Screw Your Roommate is a Stanford dorm tradition that typically takes place during winter or spring quarter, depending on each particular dorm's schedule. Essentially a bonding event in which roommates set each other up on blind dates, it is an opportunity to meet a new friend (or, perhaps, more than a friend) outside of one's dorm. Typical Screw Your Roommate date activities — which, by the way, are free of cost, since they are dorm-sponsored — include bowling, mini-golfing, and ice skating.
